Howard Crumpton, PhD is the owner and CEO of Reach Out Therapy, LLC.
During his schooling and since earning his doctoral degree, he has trained, worked and taught in some of the nation’s most respected institutions, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Children’s National Health System (formerly, Children’s National Medical Center). Along the way, Dr. Crumpton served in adjunct roles as a psychological evaluator at The MECCA Group, LLC, a private practice in Washington, DC owned and operated by women of color, and in consultative capacities for clients recoverying from substance abuse, and their families at Encore Recovery Services. Dr. Crumpton has also served in clinical or advisory capacities for online therapy platforms such as Talkspace, BetterHelp and Canada-based Get-A-Head.
In addition to his work at Reach Out Therapy, Dr. Crumpton provides mental health and consultative services for families at EKOE Health, a collective of diverse health professionals who understand and treat trauma as experiences that live in - and express themselves through - the mind, the body and the energy with which we conduct our daily lives. The EKOE Health office is located in Falls Church, Va.
While Dr. Crumpton’s target population includes all children, he holds particular interests in treating such concerns in the Latinx community with families whose primary language is Spanish. His demonstrated clinical and research interests include increasing motivation and academic success of low-achieving students, understanding the impact of warm and supportive teacher-student interactions on student classroom behavior, and the psychological assessment of culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
Dr. Crumpton currently resides in Maryland. In his spare time, Dr. Crumpton plays the drums, practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, learns new languages, travels (and plays video games..ssshhh!!).
Dr. Crumpton earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.
Ms. Mar’Kayla Walker-Jones is a doctoral level clinician pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Ms. Walker-Jones provided school-based therapy to middle and high students, she worked with domestic violence survivors and families, in addition to dually diagnosed adults. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychological assessments. Ms. Walker-Jones specializes in working with diverse populations specifically racial/ethnic minorities. She offers a warm and collaborative therapeutic environment, with emphasis on increasing self-awareness to understand relationship patterns in order to create more fulfilling relationships.
Ms. Mar'Kayla Walker-Jones holds an M.S.S.W from Columbia University School of Social Work as well as B.A. in Psychology from Bennett College.
